A special guitar course on Jagjit Singh’s music – Guitarmonk salute to Jagjit Singh on his 72nd b’day

Guitarmonk remembered Jagjit Singh on his b’day by introducing a specialty Guitar Tunes program for Jagjit Singh Ghazal music lovers. This program will be live soon for students and contain a collection of Jagjit Singh famous tunes for learning on guitar.

Jagjit Singh (8 Feb 1941-2011), the Ghazal maestro and king is also greeted by Google Doodle on his 72nd b’day. Jagjit Singh suffered a cerebral hemorrhage on 23 September 2011 and died in Mumbai on 10 October 2011.

He is one of the legends and inspiration of Ghazal (genre) music in India.

Pt. Ravi Shankar, 92, passed away in San Deiego, US on last tuesday (11 Dec, 2012) evening.

He was the exponent of Indian Classical Music & sitar to the global community. One of the star musicians of India. George Harrison  lead guitarist of historic band ‘Beatles’ came to India to learn sitar from him.

Yash Chopra – Bollywood ‘King of Romance’ passes away on Sunday 21 Oct, 2012

Yash Chopra, one of the founders of countries biggest production house as Yash Raj Films and the Bollywood ‘King of Romance’ passes away on Sunday 21 OCT, 2012. He had been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai with an attack of dengue.

Yash Chopra made ever memorable romantic dramas of Bollywood including Deewar, Kala Pathar, Kabhi Kabhi, Silsila, Chandni, DDLJ etc. It was a big loss of the inspirational figure both to the Bollywood as well as common man. We at guitarmonk wish peace to his soul.

Williams rose to fame in the 2000s as a member of R&B girl group Destiny’s Child, one of the best-selling female groups of all time. Williams joined Destiny’s Child in 2000, two years before releasing her solo debut, Heart to Yours, during the group’s hiatus. As well as having become a successful singer, Williams has also found success as a television, Broadway and West End Theatre actress, gaining a nomination for best “Lead Female Actress” in 2008 at the 18th Annual NAACP Theatre Awards.
