Press Release: Music Salutation to Cancer Survivors, 20 April, 2013

Music can’t take the place of medicine but nonetheless it is an important part of treatment.

20 April, 2013 Guitarmonk gave a scintillating music salutation to survivors of cancer disease at Indian Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. On the eve various genres of music as Indi Pop, Western and Instrumental is performed by various artists including a non-stop acoustic guitar by Kapil (founder – guitarmonk). The other artists included singer Nitin, Gaurav, Rahul.

On the occasion guitarmonk also sponsored music therapy CDs gift to eminent doctors and cancer survivors. The CD includes ‘selected ragas’ helps in healing stress.

It is said that physician is inside our body and when we feed the physician inside us with music, it gains strength and healing starts taking place from within. In cancer, this is very important as its expensive dents on mind and body can only be met with a strong will power and spirituality said Kapil Srivastava (Founder, Guitarmonk).

Guitarmonk is one of India’s largest music social movements, honored by state government, ministry of health and various corporate for its social initiatives for last half decade. It is also working on the cause of cancer via bringing an emotional support, creating awareness for all on the cancer havoc and its prevention.

Women’s Day 2013 Celebrations by Guitarmonk (Video & Photo-gallery)

It’s a proud moment of both honour and privilege to share with you about the women’s day celebrations in the Delhi city.

On the occasion, hundreds of women were honoured with live music greetings, live performances and a musical gift. A customized music album comprising of therapeutic music is also released and gifted on the occasion to several women. The album is conceptualized as music for stress.

After the several unfortunate incidents against women in Delhi in the last few months particularly the Nirbhaya tragedy; Delhi city is being targeted as city of fear, hopelessness, and women’s violence by people around globe. The objective of the event was to honour women, re-strengthen the respect, sense of security, trust and bond of togetherness for women in Delhi city. This event is also a reflection and message of our responsibility, dignity and honour to the world around.

Celebrations took place at various locations & zones of Delhi-NCR including centres of Guitarmonk. [Please see – Event Images & Video].

The event is organized by music company Guitarmonk – a 360 degree music concept. It is the 4th consecutive year of it women’s day initiative in Delhi – NCR (2010-2013).

It was a proud moment when we celebrated 4th year of women’s day at Guitarmonk. We have always celebrated women’s day event every year and this year we have successfully led this event celebration to a new level as never before in Delhi-NCR.

On the occasion, we greeted hundreds of women with live music greetings, live performances and a musical gift. The event took place at various locations & zones of Delhi-NCR including centres of Guitarmonk. The specialty of event is a customized album (made for the women’s day) and gifted to hundreds of women in Delhi-NCR.

Guitarmonk Students played National Anthem on Guitar on Independence Day

Saluting the spirit of our nation and voice of everyone, Guitarmonk Musicians and hundreds of guitarmonk students performed ‘National Anthem’ and ‘Vande Matram’ on Guitar.

This movement was a pledge for National Unity and a Salutation for the Indian spirits. It was also a voice for an anti-corrupt and terror free India.

Various other cultural activities marked the celebration on the day. The event took place at East Delhi Branch of Guitarmonk.

Guitarmonk is one of India’s leading chain of Guitar Schools has also made a special curriculum on patriotic songs for special performances and to re- strengthen the patriotic spirits among young students & kids.

Being a Music Performer – Lecture & Demo by Kapil Srivastav

10 Feb, 2012 - Kapil Srivastav delivered a lecture demonstration on Topic – ‘Being a Music Performer” to various corporate individuals and guitarmonk students.

The objective of demonstration was to counsel the benefits of being a perfomer and how easy actually it is (for a student) to be a performer. Kapil also gave a live performance demonstration on typical performance styles and showcased various performance case studies to viewers.

Referring to various benefits on to focus one’s music learning to a performance based learning rather mere information or activity based learning. Kapil elaborated various components regarding types of performances, psychological, physiological benefits of a performance task and further addressed questions of attendants.  The overall impact of Lecture-demo was that most students were highly charged and motivated to see themselves as a performing artist in stipulated time.

Raga on Guitar Lecture Demonstration by Kapil Srivastav

Guitar Competition Delhi, Noida organized by Guitarmonk

Guitarmonk organize yearly guitar competitions for its sincere students. The competition is organized to identify the progress of students, recognition for the best teacher and certification parameter for students.

The competition is an internal competition for guitarmonk students however outside students who are good players and are looking for certification with guitarmonk can also be tested during this event based on decision of management.

All participants in the event and awarded with gifts, certificates, party after the event.

The winner of the event is awarded Free Guitar by Guitarmonk or as decided appropriate by management. 2nd and 3rd runners up are also awarded with similar prize of guitar accessories as free tuners etc.

Guitarmonk, guitar school in new Delhi, performs at Delhi Secretariat

Guitarmonk salutes all state awarded teachers on the occasion of Teacher Day. The guitar ensemble is performed at Delhi Secretariat, New Delhi.

Guitarmonk has performed guitar two times on the same occasion at Delhi Secretariat. The guitar was performed by none other that Guitarist – Kapil Srivastava, who received state award as best guitar trainer on the occasion as well.
