Qazi had no formal training before Fame Gurukul. He broke all the records for getting the highest votes in any of the then reality shows. His charming looks and sincerity got his first Fame on TV. The president of India, in regards to Qazi Touqeer, declared him to be the hero of the Kashmir Valley.

Kelly’s first solo exhibition was held at the Galerie Arnaud, Paris, in 1951. In 1957, he completed his first public commission, sculptural works for the lobby of the Penn Center in Philadelphia.
