GuitarMonk wishes “Kailash Kher” a warm greeting and remembrance on his birthday today. He is an Indian pop-rock singer with a music style influenced by Indian folk music. He has sung in 18 languages for regional films, and over now 300 songs for the Bollywood. He was inspired by the Qawwali singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and the classical musician Pandit Kumar Gandharva. They remain his inspirations. He formed Kailasa in Delhi, with Mumbai based musician brothers, Paresh Kamath and Naresh Kamath, whom he met them in Delhi. The band’s first album ‘Kailasa’, released in March, 2006, went on to revive the Indian pop music market. The album was an immediate smash hit. Kailash Kher and His Band Kailasa Has performed over 800 concerts in the span of approximately eight years across the globe.
